A Reporter's Life

Six Flags guy

If you watch any amount of TV and live where the Six Flags amusement park might advertise, you've seen the commercial. An old man rolls into town on a Six Flags bus, then creeps out of the vehicle. And the rest unfolds from there.

I just had the idea of finding it online and posting it on my blog (because it has nothing to do with things like Lodi suing Wall Street and Wall Street suing Lodi). Well, I found the commercial. And I learned that I haven't seen the whole commercial. Yep, that's right: The full one is longer. So turn up your sound and go watch it.

Tadhg LOVES that guy. I found out who did the song. I just need to find it on the 'net. :)

Saturday is looming! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKK!

*repeats to self* it will be over soon, it will be over soon, it will be over soon.

Wow. Hearing the Vengaboys again caused a MAJOR flashback to university for me -- that song was VERY popular in my chemical engineering graduating class, especially with Becci, who I worked closely with on a few projects.

What an awesome commercial. I wish I could get it on TV here so I could see it bigger and in more detail. I'm glad you found the link anyway, though. :-)

The commercial has been effective enough that they are showing newer and/or different versions now, too. I saw one this morning with a different ending than I had seen before. I haven't seen it with the narration, though.

I remember when Marine World was about the sea life. Now it is about the coasters.

The one I saw had no narration and more shots of the happy people in the bus. It's the second best commercial ever.

Gah. I couldn't find the best commercial ever, but I've got the audio from it at http://www.thesnakefarm.com/bestevar.wav . Enjoy.

Anybody here know where I can have a picture of that six flags guy?

This guy is truly a funny character. My Husband and kids thinks that this is the most exciting and interesting commercial ever. Wouldn't it be be really cool if Six Flags had a representative to come around to the surrounding neighborhoods to the park and escort families to the park?

That is "Late Nights" Paul Schafer's great uncle. And by the by, that commercial makes me "urpy". Well, at least it's not a "Brittany Spears" commercial. Barf me out!
