Female who answered the phone at a law office I called: "Miss Bohm, there’s nobody here that wants to speak with you after your last article."

Editor, on hearing about it: "It's not every day that a reporter can scare an office full of lawyers."

The response I thought of after I thanked the woman and hung up: "Which article? Three ran in one day."

I would be very offended if you walked behind my apartment and wrote about no lights being on. For shame, EllBee, for shame.

Seriously, it sounds like they are in such a mess because of more than just your article or whether they spoke to you or not. Besides, who in Lafayette/East Bay/Bay Area is reading the Lodi newspaper? Well, other than me. I laugh at them.

This is a belated response to Ferrick: Actually, I think a few people in your area are reading the paper. These days, I mention Lodi to lawyers (and non-lawyers) I call in various places, and they all know exactly what I'm talking about.
