A Reporter's Life

Hope thief

I'm so mad about this woman, I really have nothing more to say. All I know is that she deserves a much stiffer punishment than the one she'll receive, if she even gets one at all.

Yeah, I read that this morning, and wanted to shoot her. I don't know how people can have such a high level of stupidity and cruelness.. but those are the idiots that ought to be hung by their toenails and eaten by mice.

She should be convicted but from what I read, there might be a history of multiple personalities or schizophrenia that comes into play. Whatever the reason, it is pretty messed up.

The Sac Bee wrote a big story today about how she kept calling them and was an informant who found Internet pedophiles. Yeah, she's probably whack-o. But that only makes me believe more strongly that she needs to be locked up somewhere and prevented access to anything, like a telephone or the Internet, that would allow her to hurt anyone ever again.

When I worked in ASUCD at the main office, we had a legal service that students could use. I had a call from a guy once who sounded fine but rambled on from topic to topic and eventually got into some pretty good paranoia stories about the government and local newspapers and such. I listened for about 10 minutes without him stopping even once and he required no verbal prompts from me. I was most interested because I had been taking some abnormal psychology classes and he exhibited some signs of paranoid schizophrenia and his speech was an example of a "word salad." Although, each sentence, by itself, made sense and actually linked quite well to the next one, there was no coherent pattern to the whole. I don't think this guy needed to be locked away anywhere but possible trouble wasn't too far away if the circumstances were correct. This woman needs help and needs to be kept away from those she can hurt, for sure.

Then there was the guy I'd see at Wells Fargo with aluminum foil on his head.

Huh. Glad I came back and read this post -- that "Word Salad" thing sounds like the other side of a LOT of conversations I have with certain people downtown on Friday nights.

How is it that hardly any major religion has looked at science and concluded, 'This is better than we thought! The universe is much bigger than our prophets said, grander, more subtle, more elegant. God must be even greater than we dreamed.' Instead they say, 'No, no, no! My god is a little god, and I want him to stay that way.' by gambling

If you hear that someone is speaking ill of you, instead of trying to defend yourself you should say: 'He obviously does not know me very well, since there are so many other faults he could have mentioned'. by casino games

Each group thinks its own folkways the only right ones, and if it observes that other groups have other folkways this excites its scorn. by free online poker
