A Reporter's Life

Reporter attacked by dog

Didn't that title catch your eye? Yes, it's true: I was attacked by a dog — a police dog — and I have the pictures to prove it. Mind you, I wasn't hurt and I readily consented to it, but that's beside the point.

Did you get to wear the big ol' michelin man suit?

Posted by: Thomas at 6:17 PM, April 30, 2003

I wore a big sleeve-thing, so does that count? (I have pictures, but I forgot to e-mail them home to myself from work.) Coming soon to a paper near you: the first-person account.

This rules. Not as much as the pepper spray, but still.

By the way, I think I'm going to stick with the name "MONKEY MONKEY" when posting here. There's something about capital letters and repetition that appeals to me...

Posted by: MONKEY MONKEY at 10:24 PM, April 30, 2003

You are so h4rdc0r3.

Posted by: ang at 6:44 AM, May 01, 2003

Monkey: Pepper spray?? Are you by any chance referring to the 50,000-volt Taser incident? Pepper spray is for wimps. ;-)

Also, you are weird. (Re: the MONKEY MONKEY thing)

Layla, are these your friends?

p.s. i like lower cases ...

Posted by: jpb at 3:48 PM, May 01, 2003

jpb: You made me laugh out loud. Yes, I suppose these are my friends. Aren't they/we psychotic?

Posted by: Layla at 7:54 PM, May 01, 2003

So, where's the link to www.lodinews.com? I was very interested in reading the story! :)

Posted by: jpb at 9:43 AM, May 03, 2003

LOL! You're funny. I was going to post dog tails (hahaha) on my main site, but for now, how's this?

"Hi, my name is Layla, and welcome to The Smudge."

Posted by: Matthew at 3:18 PM, May 03, 2003

Is that like "The View"?

Posted by: jpb75 at 8:03 AM, May 05, 2003

I asked him, and it's a reference to "Jackass." I'm not sure which one I'd rather be compared to...

Posted by: Layla at 8:29 AM, May 05, 2003

Er, um, yeah. The taser thing. Where did I get pepper spray from?

Find ten ways I'm being random today!

Posted by: Monkeyman at 11:21 AM, May 06, 2003

Also, I think the Jackass thing is really sort of complimentary. Maybe.

Also, why does your URL field insist on wiping out my http:// every time? The link won't work without it...

Posted by: Monkeyman at 11:22 AM, May 06, 2003

Wiping out your http://? I don't get it. Your URL works fine for me...

Posted by: Layla at 12:41 PM, May 06, 2003

Rheese is a nut. And he is a newbie. And he eats pepper spray. But my links work. But there isn't a story on the page.

With friends like these, who needs dandelions?

Where are these pictures of you with your big, leathery arm? The one you hide under the table when you go to the bars to arm wrestle. Or that you use to abuse poor, snarling police dogs.

Posted by: Ferrick at 3:02 PM, May 06, 2003

The article links work now.

Posted by: Layla at 8:53 AM, May 08, 2003

The picture of you and the dog makes it look like the dog's swallowed your arm. ;)

I never did anything that exciting in my reporter days. I got bit by the Pet of the Week once ...

Posted by: merlaan at 2:12 PM, May 13, 2003

You got bit by the Pet of the Week? That definitely sounds interesting, and perhaps a very tiny bit exciting.

Posted by: Layla at 10:20 PM, May 13, 2003

It was a kitten, and I was trying to photograph it, and while I was petting it, it nipped me. Probably just normal kittenish behavior... but after the photo ran, I mentioned it in passing to the animal shelter people and they were horrified. They said they would have got another pet of the week had they known that one had bit me.

Posted by: merlaan at 12:36 PM, May 14, 2003

That's a great story, and saying that you were bitten by a Live Animal while at work makes it even more entertaining.

valium is a popular antidepressant.

Posted by: valium at 9:46 PM, December 26, 2004

Cheap valium is available on the internet and prices drastically lower than your local pharmacy. This is because major pharmaceutical companies have a legal stranglehold on the US which basically allows them a monopolistic pricing structure.
